There is nothing quite like the magic of live big band jazz drifting through a warm summer night. This past June, the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra (CCJO) had the absolute pleasure of headlining the annual Dillsboro Jazz Festival in Dillsboro, Indiana!
Held at the gorgeous outdoor venue, The Porch at Dillsboro Arts (12926 Bank Street), this free community event has quickly become a favorite summer tradition for musicians and music lovers alike.
A Night of World-Class Music and Community Magic
The energy this year was unmatched. Sharing the stage with world-renowned vocalist Mandy Gaines, our musicians brought a hard-swinging, dynamic set to a fantastic crowd. From classic standards to vibrant modern arrangements, the hills of Southeast Indiana were alive with the sounds of the CCJO.
The evening also featured incredible performances by local favorites like blues and boogie-woogie master Ricky Nye, Inc., making it a true celebration of regional musical talent.
More Than Just Great Tunes
What makes the Dillsboro Jazz Festival so unique is how it blends world-class performance with local art and hospitality. While the big band played, festival-goers were able to:
- Explore stunning visual art exhibitions at the adjacent Friendship Gallery
- Relax on lawn chairs and blankets under the evening sky
- Enjoy delicious local food and drinks available throughout the venue
Best of all? The festival remains 100% free to the public, keeping high-quality jazz arts accessible to everyone in the tri-state area.
Thank You, Dillsboro!
We want to extend a massive thank you to Dillsboro Main Street, Dillsboro Arts, and every single person who came out to support live music. Playing for such an enthusiastic, welcoming community reminds us exactly why we do what we do.
